let me see...
For the first two weeks of 2007, I found my schedule filling up. Let me make it clear that I am not complaining, in fact, I welcome it because it signals a lot of things to do that will not allow me to become idle!
Yes, school started and I can almost feel the pressure of having to decide what to do for my thesis. I already attended my first class and it is mixed-mode, meaning our class meets online and classroom alternately. It is fun, with a lot of active classmates posting replies in our forums, and interesting as I am fascinated and intrigued what this subject will bring me at the end. The only thing that tests my patience is the slow and intermittent internet connection, as brought about by the Taiwan earthquake last December (yes, Globe have yet to fix their cables!).
In a few hours, I will be going all the way to LSGH to attend my other class for this term. We didn't meet last week due to our professor's unavailability. I signed up for this class (even if it is in Ortigas campus) because, aside from completing my intention to finish with a major in International Business, it seems to be a good subject - Global Corporate Citizenship. As explained by the Vice Dean, a component is a required outreach activity (learning and helping!).
On to events, let me see...oh yes, it still keeps us busy. Just last week, we were in Tagaytay for a three-day video coverage. What we covered on Friday and Saturday, we have to edit to be shown at 8am Sunday, with 100 copies ready to be given to the conference delegates. If you're not familiar how this goes, let me just tell you that it involves more than ten video tapes, several up and running desktop and laptops, and a lot of venti caramel macchiatos! No sleep but with lots of laughters...and the results very much appreciated by the client. We went home Sunday tired and sleepy...and to wake up early Monday for another event. It was fairly an easy one as compared to other events, but the preparations that went with it was, to be gentle, unreasonable! No need to elaborate but if you still wish to hear the lowdown, drop me a line! I rather move on to our next event (we have a shoot on the 24th and a fun run on the 27th!).
Oh...another funny thing (well for most of us who heard the story, but I guess not for the "victim") that happened during the first two weeks of the year was Jackie's stolen chicken! I've already told the story to my sibs and mom, but for our readers, here's the gist: Jackie wanted Chickenjoy for lunch. Her mom bought her the food and left it in her cubbyhole. Fe goes home to do some chores. Come lunch time, Jackie goes to get her food and when she opened it, no chicken! Jackie was left with chicken crumbs, rice, gravy and the toy that comes free with the meal. Hungry Jackie with the help of the school nurse calls Fe to report the lost chicken. After 40 minutes or so, Jackie was able to eat lunch as Fe hurriedly bought another chicken and brought it to school. Moral of the story: guard your chicken! Apparently, Jackie does not want to be reminded of this incident! She rather forget and move on! Hahahahahahaha!
Oh well, until the next update...
Congratulations to our dear sister, Jen, who landed her first job after her first interview! You go, girl! You are now really a nurse!!! Shucks, you're getting older na...
Good luck to JL to your soon-to-be MBA journey...I am sure you'll survive it with flying colors! Enjoy being in school again...the learning never stops!
